Here are some pics from the weekend, i had taken everything out, and had got round to finishing the job that i started over a year ago.

Ok here is the fiberglass that was already down, its got dirty after a year, and i didnt put it down properly







I then added just the resin and sealed all the sides again making sure everythng was water tight

The area the tank sit i applied a gelcoat topcaot, i thought it was going to be grey, thats what i ordered, but it was clear, so never mind

Anways heres the protectakote i added to smarten it up






And then the stuff put back into the van,

Its not finished yet still got to find a place for the battery and tidy up the cabling

how long dose the fiberglass take to go off and how dose it work? I've never used fiberglass but it might be handy to fill the gap between the bulkhead and van floor.

or dose any one else suggest something diffrent

I'm doing my new one this weekend seeing your pics has made me think I shall have to take some pics myself.

I like the method you've used to secure your tank. Simple, but effective!

When I switched to wfp a couple of months back I was all paranoid about water in the back of my Vivaro van so went and bought protectakote etc. Keyed up the floor and painted it all on thinking i was gonna get all this water in the back of my van and yet it hardly gets wet. Am I missing something? It now seems like a lot of things on here - a bit ott.

my last van was nearly always full of h2o. i keep forgetting to switch it off when filling 

my reason for wanting to seal the bulk head is because when my kangoo over filled it all ran in to the foot well of the cab. many a morning getting out to find a foot of h2o in there

I haven't overfilled yet but I did put a loop of hose for a breather and a stop end on my fill up point in the cap because i had some splashes out of it whilst driving. I also put brass connections to my di vessel with jubilee clips because my hoselocks were leaking everytime i hit a bump. Apart from a bit of water on the brush head though I haven't had any water of any note in the van yet - and I hope it stays this way. The protectakote is good but pricey. Just makes the floor non slip though. The existing paintwork was waterproof. After all, it's exposed 24/7 on the outside of the van and doesn't rot after 5 minutes. I'm just glad i bought white protectakote for my white van as I nearly bought black. Would of looked hideous.

I pump from an IBC in the morning so only had a 400ltr + pump + varistream + hose. no RO + DI.

I would turn my transfer pump on then start my brecky then 30 mins later shot an F word at the top of my voice and steam out to the submerged van!!

lol. Mine's transferred from a static system but i was told to have another di in the van just in case in.

why ??/

well the fibreglass was going to be my original option, and then just have a grey gelcaot topcoat, but that didnt work out, i like fibreglass because its very strong, and can get a very nice finish

the fibreglass goes off it 20mins,

my best tip its to prepare well and dont do it on a really hot day.


And i always get water in the back, if i fill the tank up to the top for big days when someone is with me, i lose 20l on the journey to the job.


Oh and the heater, yeah very good, used it on tuesday to clean a con roof, got pics of that to come up soon.

I really like using for gutters and con roofs and in winter, not much point any other time, makes things more difficult with the floppy hose

iv had my vivaro speedlined which is another variety of the waterproofing which is sprayed on, i had mine done professionally and they drilled a couple of outlet holes thru the van floor by the bulkhead so when an accident does happen n water gets everywhere in the back of the van the water drip out.

its the same in the transit, their are drainage holes by the door, like a little well the water collects in and then drains out,
