As promised on another thread, I said I would post it so here it is.

It took 2 evenings to do it. It is not the finished article yet but will have work done on it over the next couple of weeks.

Wordpress is the software mainly used for blog sites but can also be described as a content management system.    Once setup correctly the user can update their own content via a menu system.

I have had the domain name pointing to the mattvac site for a couple of years but this is a brand new site put together this week and now using that domain name for this site.

I'm still waiting for the auto backlink plug in to be invented.

Sadly, there's no way round it, you've got to put the time, energy or money in to get good rankings in anything competitive.

Thanks Bob for showing how quickly a site can be set up in Wordpress.
The costs can be kept to a minimum depending on how much work you're prepared to do yourself.

Expect to pay a little to have someone set it up for you but most of the guys here seem to be "web savvy" so should be able to do it themselves & there are plenty tutorials out there.

As for themes, just Google "free wordpress themes" or "premium wordpress themes"

Check with your host, some (ie; Yahoo) have it already set up ready to go.

I've been helping out a fellow CC'er down under with a couple of WP sites. This is not an ad', I'm a carpet cleaner, do it yourself ;)
