But I'm not on a water meter, so that's good. Finally installed the outside tap, plugged in the RO, and I was quite dissapointed, only 50PSI. 

I'm not sure if I fitted it at the correct point, but I used an equal T on the pipe for my washing machine that branches off the mains.

It was a bit tricky gettting it straight off the mains, but it's still less then a foot away from the mains. That should be okay wouldn't it? There are two pipes before the outside tap that go to the shower and tank upstairs (I think) and one to the kitchen tap. I'm not sure if that would affect pressure even if I'm not using it?

I went from somewhere not too residential to quite a busy residential area, that might just be it.

your RO wont be that good at 50psi.

Good idea, do you use a water softener as well, or just 10 or 20 inch prefilters?

are you sure you havent put the tap onto a pipe from the tank instead of the mains. When I first put my tap in I put it onto the cold water tap in my dowstairs loo, but it turnsout that the pipe is a low pressure pipe from the tank so I ended up having a feedfrom te kitchen put in

I do not use a softener but use 20 inch filters...Jun at GAPS seems to really know her stuff..perhaps you could discuss your needs with her.

50psi with an HF5 40x40 membrane will be almost as good as a normal 40x40 at 100psi.

it might jump away up to nearly 100psi at night when your neighbours are in bed test it and see then maybe think about getting a digital water timer
