i was thinking about getting some kind of 1 inch plastic plumbing pipe. tried doing it with 12mm hose but doesn't self level. been peeing me off for ages but just kind of accepted it

I have inch pipe and it does not self level well not as quick as the sub pump sucks, connections are expensive but defo worth it, and is something I have to do aswell.

I have two 1000litre IBC's connected with hoselock, and some screw caps I bought on ebay. It takes about two hours to equalise. Which is OK most of the time.

Alternatively if you still have the short length of translucent pipe that came with your IBC...cut the end off it and it will fit inside plastic waste pipe not sure if that's 38mm or 40mm.  a couple of bends and a little pipe all push fit.

I only changed to hoselock cos I've got 3 kids and would knock it off

I swear I  have 1inch on mine will measure it, if it is does not self level at smae speed, as the pumps we have.

This is far better if you use John Guest type fittings as there water tight and solid,you`ll 2 elbow fittings for first tank and last tank all the rest would be straight and it would be leak free.I think there 1" in size needed  for IBC`s.

Also most ibc, connections will not accept john guest speed fit............... you can get connections on ebay for standard hose, IMO dont waste your money if you need self leveling quickly. I tryied for 2 days and ripped them out, I made my own fitting from domestic drainage just there was a leak because of the ibc taps, so ripped that out and went down to 1 inch and got another ibc connected.. Will when I have the time get the fitting (the right ones (about £50 ish plus hose) and do it so it flows free.

I've connected two 1000lt IBC's together using flat 2" hose from a local hydraulics supplier.  The hose fits over the nozzles on the IBC's  and I just leave the taps open.  There was a problem with the flat hose not expanding, so I put a length of 1" rigid plastic hose inside, this opens the flat hose up.

My tanks equalise in a few seconds, even though we use a BIG Draper sub pump to transfer to the vans
