Cleaned 2 sofas today 55% cotton 45% vicose almost looked like the pattern had been painted on,material was sort of glazed,as the fluid was not soaking in,only used about 8 ltrs for both,finnished off the arm covers with a terry towel.Custy said it was getting on for 20 yrs old,and had never been cleaned before.I would say it`s a similar sort of material that gets used on the cane conservatory furniture,made an improvement,apart from where it was sun damaged.
Did check the care lable,said don`t use solvents and don`t wet clean either.So told custy i would do it but i wouldn`t be liable for any damage

This don't wet clean don't dry clean malarkey is just a way of the manufcaturers getting out of any responsability - whatever you do they can say "we told you not too!" So test and proceed accordingly. Thats always assuming the customer hasn't been directed by the label that says consult your local Chembow/RainMaster/Servicedry franchise!

Yeah that`s what i told custy  Did treat one of the small cushions first,then dried it off with a hairdryer,showed him what to expect,he was happy,first tme i have used terry towel on the arm covers,the beading around the edge came up really well,just gave it a splash with p/s/gold rub gently with soft brush,then dried it off.It`s the least amount of fluid i have used on a sofa,and it was more or less dry when i left him,did spend about half hour talking about his rolls royce though,and all the new car tax business,it`s a 7 ltr silver shadow 1 of only 100 made ! also clocked the signed pic of david jason on his wall,so we did a cash deal

Mark, I would say probably 25 years, these looked horrendous to clean but were actually straight forward as you found.
