London School of Economics and Political Science.https://in-tendhost.co.uk/lse/asp/tendermanage.asp (Alan Langley)

The awarding authority has a requirement for a suitably experienced contractor to provide cleaning services for the internal and
external areas of its student halls and nursery in central London. To include general cleaning, periodic specialised cleaning,
laundry and window cleaning services. For further information about the residences visit www.lse.ac.uk/accommodation

The essence of the Contract shall be that the School requires all buildings to be cleaned (including servicing of rooms during
vacation) to a standard that is acceptable to both resident staff and School customers. It shall be the responsibility of the
appointed Tenderer to determine the levels of staffing that are required to achieve the required standard and constantly review
the staffing level against improvements in productivity to reduce costs to the School.

Within the residences, two distinct term periods are operated:
I. 31 week term period, Term Time (not consecutive).
II. 40 week term period, Vacation Time (not consecutive)
The commercial trading operation is an all-year round business. Not all residences operate the same types of commercial
business, or the same number of commercial operations. The commercial periods come under the following groupings:
1. Long stay commercial flats / rooms
2. Short stay commercial flats / rooms
3. Christmas vacation
4. Easter vacation
5. Summer vacation
6. Conference and Events

To assist Tenderers in their calculations various schedules, definitions of tasks and areas and standards will be produced.
These should be viewed as minimum requirements given for guidance: it is expected that the appointed Tenderer shall aspire to
exceed these basic minimum requirements.
The successful contractor shall be required to provide the services in accordance with the awarding authoritys Specification.
Full details of the requirement will be available to short listed companies at the tender issue stage.
The contract period is for three years with the option to extend for a further year, subject to satisfactory performance and at
the discretion of the School.
