Do fan jets use less water?
« on: May 26, 2009, 07:02:30 pm »
Just topped up the van and I reckon to have used 500l of water from nine till five, no major work, no first cleans and no conservatory roofs. I shut off my water between every window too. So just wondered if fans use less than pencils?

How strange.
I have been using pencil jets for 4 years  and have used fan jets for past 6 months, not only save more water, plus love working with fan jets. ;)

Bosh

When you use fan jets you try convincing the customer that your not using a jet washer lol because that`s how it sounds and looks on the glass and i reckon you will get a lot more people moaning about the water or the amount your using and leaving lying around. The rinse is all in the brush and how it will allow water to flow through it,if you use a Vikan brush you`ll find the water will get trapped and even with a good flow of water you`ll still leave bits behind on the glass, where`s with an SL brush you can rinse on with pencils confident that the result will be top notch.

Ive always used fan jets but now i only use pencil jets and pencil jets use less water as you can turn the flow right down but with the fan jets turning the flow right down on them and the water just flicks about the bristles..

I use fan jets all the time as I think pencil ones are crap especially when rinseing on glass that bead,I started off with pecil jets on large commercial glass and they beaded,I would have been quicker cleaning the windows trad with a 3 inch squeegee and mop! ;D ;D ;D ,fan jets  are alot quicker to work with too in my opinion than pencil ones. ;)

Pencil jets are better,  Pencil jets all the way but i have a DIY pole with 1 fan jet mounted on a masonary brush just for gutter and fascias it works a treat.

Fan jets use about 10% less water in my experience.

I prefer fan jets too.
It's a game of three halves!
