Charity football match!!
« on: April 22, 2005, 11:56:57 am »
As we are all a charitable bunch how about a charity football match ;D It could be carpet cleaners North V's South. We could seek out some main sponsors from our main suppliers and manufacturers as well as individual sponsership, we would also benefit from our local papers showing an interest so free advertising as well as the general public seeing us cc's as the decent chaps we all are ;D. I know Steve does some great work for cancer research so perhaps he could offer advice on how best to do it and I'm sure someone has contacts who could get the use of a decent pitch.

What do you think??

Paul

P.S I'll take central midfield :)

My colleague Roy Pardoe was a Professional linesman and referees in lower leagues, I am sure he would officiate the game.

I would play in the Vinnie Jones position  ;D

Need plenty of notice for dates so don't clash with holiday.
Tanning more important than tackling, got to show off my St.George flag thong somewhere  :P

Lee,

Of course you can play :) Any of the guys from the two CC forums are welcome, it would be great if your mate could referee.

Its rolling subs chaps so being old or lazy isnt a very good excuse, then again we will need two managers :)

I think Len Gribble would be a fantastic manager for the south. No-nonsense attitude. I just hope the south are winning at half time, imagine the teamtalk!

Doug, The ladies behind the bar may object to you fiddling with their jugs  :o

I'm far to old and far to lazy ;) But as i'm in the midlands i could sort out the venue. One thing that you have to bear in mind is that if its in the summer you could probably get it aranged for a Saturday, but obviosly not in the football season. I was just thinking because, the amount of interest may decline if people have travel down for a night, and lose two days work!!

Hi Geoff

I think that your right on Par there.
I can put the blood pressure tablets away now. ;D

We can still do it for charity.... Now about a childrens hospice ?????
Better still lets adopt a childrens hospice and make it our main charity ??? Come on lads lets do something good (feel nice factor) for a change.

We could hold say two events a year like this and I'm sure that we could get some sponsorship from main dealers and hold a raffle at the evening dinner.

It's just where you would what to hold it at .... ....???????

One event up north/Midlands and the other one down South that that keeps everybody happy. (That would be a first).

Comments please.

Regards Kevin.
