I recently bought a round of a wc who is retiring after 32 years, he had a nasty fall 4 years ago, he still limps and is in constant pain.

One of the customers I took dropped me yesterday for a ladder man because she prefers the old way - people are just too selfish and ignorant.

The most gauling thing is she must be aware of the healthand safety side of things as they own and run a very large company.
if cleaners are using ladders its her chioce to have one

to the guys who have had their WFP fall on them, did you go out and buy hard hats afterwards?
When I clean with my WFP on floors higher than first floor I always use my hard hat, as its not just the pole that could fall on you, but poorly maintained window sills and frames could break and fall, so hard hats are a must.
rather look a fool, than recieve injuries and be out of work for weeks.

You serious Matt? What do you mean by "first floor"?
It's a game of three halves!

I thought this post was about a window cleaner who had died???
He obviously ignored safety issues!
to the people that ridiculing the idea of hard hats obviously dont take health and safety that seriously either!!!

Matt

p.s. Malco 1st floor is the one above ground floor lol so I wear hard hat on second floor above.

I know you were YWCS
just cant believe people on here going on about the safety of ladders. then laughing at the idea of using safety with poles.

Matt....sorry if you thought i was taking the pee....well i was but sorry anyway... ;D
What i dont understand is when cleaning above first floor how anything could really come down on you as when i clean 2nd,3rd and 4th occasionally i am at a certain distance from the building that nothing could fall onto me without me noticing...
Perhaps i do it wrong then... :-[

Daniel a friend of mine was using a pole and the plastic angle snapped and the stock came crashing down hit the sill on the first floor window and only just missed him. he was standing several metres away from the building.
