Alltec
« on: April 30, 2009, 12:46:29 pm »
I like Alltec, the machines, the staff, the fact that they are a UK manufacturer surviving, maybe even prospering in todays global economy.

I do however have an issue with any company that advertises goods for sale, accepts an order, takes full payment only to then have to order the items in with a 2 month lead time!!!

I placed an order for various items back in March, payment in full was immediately taken. I then received only part of this order and annoyingly a receipt for only the items despatched (so now I have unreceipted money from our account in the last tax year). The rest has not even arrived at Alltec yet, some six weeks later! They tell me it will be here either late this week or early next.

As said, I do like Alltec but this is one aspect that truly lets them down.

I will continue to buy from them but in future I will clarify stock prior to ordering. This means that web-ordering is no longer an option as to check stock I will have to call.

The point of this post is to let you all know to check stock before you buy, not necessarily just from Alltec.

OK, moan over  :)

when i was looking for a setup i spoke to altec and to be honest was more impressed with machines than the sales pitch on wait for del boy line " this time next year youl be a millionaire"  we all know that does not happen by just buying a shiney new machine with go faster green stripes. i would not knock there equioment because all i hear are good reports although i am not convinced that there design is the best as far as a porty coming in and out of the van seems an awkward setup to get in and out.

they way i enterpreted the pitch was do what we say and watch the cash roll in. errrrr nope. i have been goin 6 months and have seen steady growth within that period and although some weeks are better than others i feel its heading the right way.

its like this just because a man drives a porsche does not mean to say he is successful. that will only happen with hard work forsight and of course a little good luck.

i hate false promises and building hopes up to fail in order to sell equipment.

thats just my opinion

We fell for it  ;D

For Porsche, more like a pony. Pesky Robert...  :o  ::)

NOTE:- Just to add so that there is no miss understanding.
The quote above is just a joke, and not a swipe at Robert.
We like him. He is a character, but we certainly have different ideas as to what can be acheived in the cleaning business. I had an email from someone who thought I wasnt just joking about. I am.

i rang alltec about a truckmount before i bought from hydramaster.
he basically told me how i could turn up at a custys house at around 10am, fanny about having brews and chatting and showing dvd's of anthea, sign them up do the job and then go play a few rounds of golf, then watch your bank balance swell to the limit as the direct debits comme flooding in.
put me right off, i like to work hard for my money, but each to there own i suppose.

Its not just happened to you Ian, the post below was copied from another forum,,,,,

I put in a reasonable size online order with them nearly 8 weeks ago and when it was delivered a few days later half the order was missing. When I phoned I was told that the remaining items were out of stock and could take 6 - 8 weeks to arrive! In fact they still havent arrived yet!!

I have never had any problems with Alltec in the past and I can honestly say that their service is normally first class, but for them to process my order and take full payment without letting me know that they did not have the products in stock to sell (corner guards and chems) or even an estimated date of delivery without me having to get on the phone is well out of order. Disappointed

I just hope this is a one off case and not the sign of things to come.

Hi Karl

I have spoken to Altec and they had to order after I ordered. At that time, after payment had been taken I was advised 6 - 8 weeks. They did offer a refund but in truth I couldn't do with the messing around. Maybe if they hadn't already taken the full amount from our account I'd have cancelled.

The problem with customs may have added to the problem but only this week Alltec advised me that the shipment was due late this or early next week

Incidentally, corner-guards are part of what I am waiting for.

I do think they should have only taken payment for items despatched. The ironic thing is that when I asked for the full receipt (for the end of tax year) I was advised that their accounts system will not allow a receipt to be generated until they despatch.

So they can take payment OK but not issue a receipt ???

To be fair, as I have already said; I like Alltec and I would definitely recommend their porty's.

This for me is hopefully their only bad aspect, and hopefully they'll address this issue.

If any one goes to Alltec you will see that there are a lot of gaps on their shelves where the products should be.

They dont make anything there apart from machinery, all the products are bought in and decanted into their own bottles or containers.

You dont think those cheap labels with their spelling or gramatical errors are made abroad do you.

Do Sainsbury grow all the veg they sell? do Morrisons raise the cattle for the meat they sell.

nothing wrong with buying it in and re-bottling it, we all could do it if we were willing to buy a couple of tonne of powered detergent, or maybe 500gl of pre-spray ;D

I think its probably a cash flow thing, they have looked at their books, seen how much they are owed and thought we'd better get that in befor any of the CC's out there go pop and Altec lose the money.

Cash flow, simple really.

Arrived today.

Alltec also very kindly sent a fair few free chemicals by way of apology for the inconvenience.

They are therefore officially forgiven  :)
