Trolley versus van fit
« on: April 22, 2009, 02:47:19 pm »
Hi
I am a newbie to this forum so bear with me if I am asking a silly question. On the face of it a van fitted WFP system is the way to go. However I cant help but think that a trolley system plus some extra barrels may have an advantage in that it is more mobile and could have better acess to some typesof houses. Does this make any kind of sense. I should add that I am about to start out with a pure water system but i am slightly unsure as to which way to go on this one. One final thing are the sureflo backpacks any good?
thanks for your thoughts and help

build yourself a trolley to start

you can allways run the IN pipe into a tank in the van and use it as a van mount

i now use a sack truck and a tank in the van, i sub pump the water from the van tank to the sack truck

Matt, I wouldn't worry too much mate, It's probably just scar tissue, the doctor told me that once healed it is stronger than the surrounding tissue, this is down to the plastic mesh they leave inside.

in my groin, when i started to feel the pain before the op, it was a few weeks before we went to disney, funny thing is, it only hurt once in disney ( which physiological is because my brain blocked out the pain ) the pain was allmost  constant from the start to the end of the day before the op, it did slightly get worse, but nothing too much

just a update for the people who are interested

with this thread putting the pain back on my agenda, i decided to phone the doc's today, they had a appointment in 15 mins, so i drove over

the first answer they had was " take a few weeks off " i explain again that i have had the last 2 weeks off

oh, Hmmmmmmmmmmm

so i now have to take painkillers and see what its like in 10 days, then they will refere me to the specialist again, they did the cough test and the repair is ok, so she didnt really have much of a clue

so i am off to get some co-codimal  ::) ::) not the answer i had hopes for, but i guess i was expecting it, take time off and take pain killers

Dont build your own trolley you will end up with a hernia!
If your not sure about the system go and look at some, pure freedom have them for you to try, thats what I did.

Matt know how you feel, I had hernia and was off work 2 months + even when i went back it didn't feel right docs said same thing to me.  7 months on its good now get a few twinges now and then and the scaring is tender from time to time just pop some pain pills to make it good :)

I started with a trolley system, and used it for 2 years. For the last year though I've been using a van system - I wouldn't go back to using a trolley now, the van system for me is far far better.

I did the same.
I do use the trolley for some jobs but now i just connect it up to the van tank and hose reel and use as a van mount. (My flojet burnt out and not replaced).
You won't waste a trolley if you do buy 1. As you recognise a van mount is the way to go.
But forget the barrels jd and buy a water tank + 1 barrel. And also a 12V submersible pump with a battery to run it.
A backpack is the cheapest way to have portability, if you have a van mount. But it won't power a van mount on its own. You would still need a battery and pump.
A trolley would power a van mount and can be unplugged easily if you need to use it alone.

Actually a b/pack will power 100 micro bore from back of van no worries.

Feed pipe gets dropped into barrels.
