Selby isn't far from Donny but why did you go to Stockport? was it to become a carpet cleaner?

When I go and do some work in Bessecarr and Cantley there are some really big houses on the way to Bawtry, there are some lovely parts but not many, John Parr still lives near Doncaster.

At heart I'm a Scouser...but don't tell Billy...he'd never believe you ;D

Tried to go to Sheffield University but the pull of my home city uni was stronger. (ah....)

I'd say that 99% of the population don't want Man Utd to win the league again, so it's Liverpool for me.

Fantastic place, usually fly from east midlands or manchester but doncaster was only a bit more expensive and when we checked out to go home we walked off the plane and were straight to our cases which were waiting on the carousel then walked to car and was home in 45 mins from plane to door, bet you can't do that from Stockport.

Flew to Corfu many many years ago from Liverpool. At the end of the holiday the Taxi brought us to Corfu airport.  2 planes sitting on the tarmac. One for Liverpool one for Manchester. We'd just got into the departure lounge when the tannoy came to life.

"This is the captain of the Liverpool flight. I know all my passengers are now in the airport. We won't bother to wait for our normal departure time, we'll go now"

AS there were only 8 passengers on the plane :o :it didn't take very long to get our luggage when we arrived home.

Thus from leaving the hotel to putting the kettle on at home took 5 hours :o :o

Wish travelling now was as easy and quick as it was then :'(

Clinton

In modern times the quickest I've ever got through an airport was when Nurse Carpet and I flew to New York in 2002.

From stepping through the door of the plane to putting the luggage in the taxi only took 15 minutes. And that included clearing US immigration and customs. :o

The luggage was actually waiting for us on the carousel :o

Mind you we did have the red carpet treatment as we had flown in on Concorde (brag, brag) ;D ;D

Once had to wait in a Turkish airport 19 hours as the plane wasn't there, they wouldn't let it in as the staff were on strike but the holiday company didn't tell us about it as they wanted us to be where they wanted, and out of the EU there were no freebies.

Pity they wouldn't let Richard Branson buy them as he wanted to make them a regular tourist thing.
