Changing from RO to DI

I currently have a van mounted RO system that takes ages to fill the tank and so I'm thinking of changing over to DI.

Would this be worth it in terms of the cost involved to run and to change the setup (I live in a soft water area).

Any advice would be appreciated and also any help on what equipment I would actually need to change the setup.

if your water tds is very low, yes change over,  it makes sense

Have 2 DI vessels and your resin will last a lot lot longer.

I have no real idea what your tds is or what your set up is exactly, but what if you take the ro out of the van and set up a static storage tank in a shed or garage. You can then produce water all day long and transfer it with a high flow transfer pump.
