using my new enviro dri only done a couple of jobs and only use it for pre spray agitation.  i seem to be creating a lot of fluff from the carpet when agitatating using the standard white brushed and just done two jobs both fairly new carpet. is this normal .  ps carpets are just standard tuffted wool

Surely it's normal, My "Scrubba" does the same.... really gets the cat/dog hairs up that the pre vac fails on!!!!

think it was just a lot of loose carpet fluff no damage to the carpet just not used to it with the light weight sebo duo  envirodri sure gets that agitatation working for you   hows things col keeping busy

The standard white brushes are a bit fierce on some carpets. I still use my sebo duo alot because of that. Should really get a set of softer brushes for wool carpets.

mine pulls up a lot of fluff, its best to clean them after each job or they will build up and then deposit them into a following carpet, which looks bad if the customer is watching and realises that the red fluff didn't come off thier cream carpet

Steady to quiet to be honest, I've had to slow down because we're off to Cumbria on a visit and custy's want their carpets cleaned over the holidays.... Tried pleading with the wife but to no avail!!! Got a few good uns booked in though for when I come back.

If you brush a carpet you will disturb the cut pile and if you dont vacuum it up you may choke your filters / reduce the efficiency of your machine.
With a powerful machine the "fluff" will be removed but a lower powered machine will need constant de fluffing of the filters.
This is a newbies nightmare as wetting the carpet before removing the " fluff " makes it ten times more difficult to remove and hugely increases the time taken to complete the job.

Try the white and gold brushes the white IMO very harsh on wool.

If you have the white brushes you will only need the gold brushes which you will use on 80% of the carpets that you will clean, so worth getting.

I've only got the white brushes and use them on everything, never caused any damage.

I'd agree with others that the white brushes are too aggresive on many carpets.

I use Gold for most of my work and find them to be essential on all domestic wool and cut pile nylons (Flotex excepted). They also do a good job on polyprop if it's not too flattened, which is when I would use the Chipmunks. I can't remember when I last used white brushes.

Brush selection is something I'll touch on tomorrow in my presentation at Wolverhampton. There are many techs who use aggresive brushes because of the soiling level. This is not necessary. You select brushes to suit the carpet, otherwise shedding and pile burst damage is inevitable.
