just some simple maths to help you out on this one.

A £30 job one wound it takes 1 hour the other it takes 2

no by your maths it is worth £90 either way, well to me that is pure stupidity!!

Now go and but a good pfofit making business......how much will it cost?

any business there all the same without guarentees....ill bet you there wont be many sold for 3 times its monthly value.

yes rounds are sold at 3x and 4x and upwards and yes if i got a good round for 3x id snap is hands and why.................cause im getting a BARGAIN!!
So if you want to undervalue your time and your efforts with your business then you do that but i will never ........so i wouldnt sell my business for any were near 3x

anyway, if a house takes an hour to do and is priced at £30ph then at 3x you'd pay £90 for it.

if it's priced at £50ph then at the same rate you'd be paying £150 for it. So better paid job = extra £60 to buy.

That's not true. You are paying for the total value of the round, not the ££ per hour. A £30.00 house that takes 1 hour is £90.0. A £30.00 house that takes 5 minutes is still £90.00.

it sounds as if you've been fortunate with the work you bought.
traditional cleaner, shop windows and some pubs.

lol . . i just re-read my post and have realised it's utter crap !! ha ha

that's why it's best to go for a pint in the evenings instead of being on here . . which is exactly what i'm about to do !! lol

I agree that if work is well priced it should go for more. I guess I've just seen time after time both work for sale at 3x and under and work bought by people I know for 3x and under.

The work we've all bought is very good work. I sold some work on that was extremely well paid for 2-3x. Maybe I could have got more, but my reasoning was if I have just bought good work for 2-3x then why not help someone else out and sell the same to them.

I guess the question is have you ever bought work and if so what was the rate at which you bought?

I have bought 4 lots of work in my time. The rates have varied between, 1 times to 3 times, for work packages worth £40 a month, £750 a month, £650 a month and £1450 a month. The multiple was decided by a few factors.

The best work that I really wanted I paid 3 times for, other stuff the guy was desperate no-one else was buying so I got it for 2 times, the £1450 a month was a bit underpriced and not well organised so I paid 2 times for it.
I agree I wouldn't sell my  business for a low price, but if no-one wants to buy it and I really needed to sell then I would have no choice would I.

In the end something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, and most windies I know would expect to pay up to 3 times for work, cos you're selling for a reason and everyone loves a bargain and will try and get one.
