Bloody people!!
« on: April 08, 2005, 11:01:32 am »
On tuesday of this week, i had a c/c from this forum contact me and ask if he could spend a day with me,
Not a problem there,  he turned up around 25 mins late, that of course threw my day out of sinc,we cleaned carpets allday in 3 different clients house,s, all the clients very happy with the results, and they are all regulars!

last night and first thing today ive had 2 of them on the phone, to inform me,that while i was packing away, " your chap gave us a card with different details to yours!!!

Now that p***** me off, i dont mind helping anyone get some more knowledge, and i do ask myself sometimes!

But to card my clients, is just damm right poor,
I wont name you, you know who you are, and you should be ashamed of your conduct.

Maybe you should name the person. If he's into that kind of thing, he'll almost certainly do it to someone else. We are not a million miles away from you and my answer to anyone asking the same now will be "No".

It makes me wonder how some people sleep at night.

Dave, I too am frequently involved in mentoring. If you don't name him would you please IM his name to me as I wouldn't want to be caught short. I know I'm not in your trading area, but just this year alone I've had newbies from Glasgow, Stafford and soon from Gloscestershire. Residential work wouldn't be a problem, but if I was on a commercial job......

Safe and happy cleaning :)

I'm gobsmacked by this, >:(

It could put people of offering their services to new starts.

I had a guy who worked for me once who in his first week put his own card in to every job he did for me.It was quickly picked up as most customers were appalled by his behaviour and made it quite clear they would not have him back.Suffice to say he was sacked after a week, with a swift kick up the back side and out the door ;D

Dave,
I like Paul's idea.........not just me & Len filling him in, but send his name to anyone you think should be made aware.
He is then put right on the spot as he will not quite know who is aware of his little stunt. (ps. the last bit is NOT rhyming slang)
Leave him looking over his shoulder  >:(

Hi Dave

Please send me his details - that's really not acceptable!!!!

Most of us with any experience will realise that, with ethics like that, his business won't be around for long.

Dave,

You should name him.  The cheek of some people, it beggars belief!!!  >:( >:(

If he has to resort to those sort of tactics to get some work, then he really won't be in business long anyway.

Ought to be ashamed of himself.

Regards.

this is just not on , i sub my self out to my old boss 3 days a week and i just would not dare try and poach work or his customers from him, yes it would be easy to give the customer a card saying i could do this cheaper and so on, 1, i would loose my self respect  and the trust of my old boss  who i greatly admire for giving me the work. 2 i would not feel like i have gone out and got the work myself off my on back and not treading on any ones toes.
also you should give the customer a big thank-you for informing you of what this toe- rag has done.

name him, boot he off, or PM his name to all.

We don't need this sort of attitude, we share ideas, we do not steal. Otherwise this forum would not work, we have to trust one another, and this guy was out of order.

This guy only had one thing on his mind before he even went out with you and
that was to try and steel your business away from your clients.
The fact is, he obviously has a low IQ in the first place to think that he was going to get away with it DUHHH!! I'm with everyone else.....Name and Shame him >:( >:( >:(

Hi Guys,

Would agree with the general feelings.

It really does beggar belief how some people behave , but thers an old cliche` about what goes around which I have always found to be true.

Cheers,

Doug
