my flojet pump has stopped working

Yes. Undo the square pressure switch cover, remove one of the orange spade terminals and touch it to the other terminal. This takes the pressure switch out of the loop and effectively provides a permanent feed.

I have sometimes worked all day with these two connections touching when a pressure switch has gone on me.

well i striped the pump right down, i couldnt find anything, mine is a smaller flojet pump, it doesnt have a pressure switch cover, as the pressure switch ( at least i guess its that , its a small little terminal type of thing covered in a thick plastic ) is inside the pump body, its just inside where the wire enters the plastic case

i had to remove the pump from the outer case

next question, i think it was maplins, what do i need ??

If you have a pressure switch then somewhere you will have two wires to it. Find these and touch them together to take the switch out of the loop.

yes, the spade connections pulled off when i pulled the pump out of the plastic body

the pump works when connected straight to 12 V

so its the pressure switch then


the pump is in a hell of a state inside ( the plastic case ), all rusty and corroded

at the bottom of the pump , on mine there is a black plastic casing

try taking it off , there is a screw there to  adjust the pressure
 
tighten it up, see what happens

had the same prob the week before :

its fine now

i saw that when i striped it all down and gave it a turn , nothing

worth a try though 

it must be the pressure switch

Might be best to talk to Dual Pumps who are the main distributors for these pumps - 01664 567226.

they will i guess try and sell me something for 30 quid    when that 1.50 thing might do the job

If the switch looks the same then it probably is the right one (although it is a micro-switch not a pressure switch) and at £1.50 why not give it a try.

i will give it a try, 1.50 isnt much, though i am sure a few have tried it on here, just thought others would have responded and helped me out

i am tempted to just fit the pump in the van for a van mount

i guess all electronic controllers fit all pumps ? ? ? ? is that right ? ? ?  its just 2 connections from the pump to the controller ? ? ?

Matt, that Maplin micro switch definately fits the Shurflo pumps but unsure whether it also fits the Flojet

What pump are you using? (Model Number etc)

its the the flojet RLF122002, funny enough though, i asked for the version without the pressure switch, i guess i didnt get it, unless its a fuse, i think i will rip the thing out and have a better look, where it is its hard to see as its inside the body but i cannot get to it unless i cut the wires

i notice the 2100 series pumps now have "Internal spring & poppet bypass" i guess this will do away with the pressure switch

Matt, I got one of those RLF122002 pumps in the garage, it says "Press: no switch" so I'm assuming it ain't got one
Let me know if you want it as I'm not using a trolly anymore
