Really sad
« on: February 24, 2009, 09:15:29 pm »
Got a nice customer and i always ring before i go, been ringing now for last couple of weeks and no answer which is odd

Got thorugh today and got told the sad news that she had been killed in road accident few weeks back, and i go past the place every day and have looked, i just thougt some lady died but it was my customer.

Real nice lady, http://www.bordercountiesadvertizer.co.uk/news/Tributes-to-woman-killed-in.4963459.jp

Such a loss. Few of my older customers have died and it is sad, but this one did upset me, went and got a card for husband and family and posted it into letter box.

Such a shame...made me think about the stresses i have are hardly anything worth worrying about when i have my health, i was only laughing and joking with her a few weeks back

At christmas a guys said " tread carefully next door when you clean, her husband has died from a heart attack....."

So i did.

Two days ago.... the widow was talking to me.... she said
" just to let you know, the guy next door has just lost his wife"

The guy who said tread carefully.

its so sad.

The older you get, the more funerals you'll be invited to. It must be upsetting for older folk visiting funerals, realising it's their friends of the same age as themselves. Death & Taxes are both disliked.

in the late eighties i cleaned windows in a bungalow where two retired school mistresses lived, both spinsters if i remember rightly. They always had me in for a cup tea  and buscuits and a great chat, done their windows for years, anyway one fri nite my wife went collecting there, the younger of the two answered the door paid my wife, now ex wife, had the useual chat ie hows the kids, hows paul etc then died there and then right infront of my wife on the doorstep, it shock me really bad as she was kinda like a aunty figure to me

A large percentage of my customers are retired and its always going to be an inevetable part of the job but I never get used to it.
I do three sets of retirement flats including a big job in Ruislip that is in six blocks. I dread going there because practically every time something has happened.
