« on: February 22, 2009, 08:25:04 pm »
Are there any female window cleaners? It seems only men clean windows . Ok, it's very hard work, but possibly some women do that? I don't , well, somethimes from inside  :)

My mum has just been made redundant, and I've been pretty swamped with work recently so shes been helping me out a bit, doing some canvassing as well, bought her an ionics 18ft multipole and a Superlite brush and she does great ;D ;D

My Missus - Carla - works with me, has done for 8 months now and she gets on with the job just great!
She is a strong girl and handles all the physical stuff just fine, and she is also really good at the job too...
It's great to havethe company to work with, and many of the customers like having an attractive woman cleaning their windows...it's a good balance.

I do all of the highest stuff, and any ladder workb I do, cos there ain't no way I'm letting her up a ladder!
With the advent of WFP, it has made window cleaning far more accessable to the female gender...so long as you have good lightweight poles that is!!#

My wife worked (Traditional) for over two years with me before the children came along!

Also, I would not say window cleaning is hard work!
It's boring, tedious, and anyone, that knows you, never thinks it's a real job, and treat you you as the lowest class of all classes! >:(

Just look at the Scots
Up there you even need a license
(We must be scum, and we should watched at all costs!) >:(

sorry lost it there for a mo! ::)

Some of you talking about earning quite good money. Lowest class doesn't earn good money or doesn't earn money at all...

Yes thats true, but, try this...
Next time you meet someone for the first time, bring into the conversation;
"What do you do for a living?"

When they then ask you the same question, watch their face...

it's something like this  :P  :-X :-\ ???  ???  ::)  :o  :-[

watch out Somerset! My missus & family friend ( also Carla ) are taking to the streets on the quad 1 day a week from April!  Had a Brodex demo on monday for a light pole. I reckon in 2 months they'll be earnng £250 a day. And demo day was the 1st day on WFP. The only tedious bit with this quad set up is the reeling in. My only concern is that the chaps are drooling over the Bike already, so if they're overly impressed with the 2 lasses, the wives will bin us!

That's another dozen startups this week - whyowhyowhyowhy - did I say o why? do we have to post earning potential in such a cavalier manner for all to see on here? :(

Well, you actually gave me idea  ;D I didn't think about window cleaning before but now... ;)
Not right now though. I don't have driving licence yet, I walk or cicle to my customers, but I'm having driving lessons now, so watch the space  :)

Re mr gold: it's not a start up. Imtaking a day off looking after young lad, so wife can have a change of scenery & earn something for herself.
I thought this forum was to encourage all, not just for selfish interest. Maybe others would like to encourage their family members, of either sex, and before launching them it woyldbe good to know what financial returns are possible. You need to know the cost of the towerbefore building it. If startups worry you, then you should look to your foundations.
