Has anybody got one of these and are they any good also what are they like as a spotter.Ive been thinking of buying one of these it says it will add another 100cfm of water lift was thinking of using it with my Raptor would like some opinions on them before i buy one and is there any other companys that sell booster boxes ive seen the Ashbys one but that looks like its just for the Ninja.cheers Darren.

I have a standard in-line booster and it's very effective. BTW they don't add 100cfm of water lift, but 100cfm of airflow.

From speaking to others who have the Mighty One, they not only make a good spotter and in-line booster, but are also ideal for small upholstery jobs and even small carpets.

I gather that they are 100psi and a single 3 stage vac, far superior to my "ordinary" spotter   Being a quite small recovery tank, the vac doesn't have the weight of much air to pull so in effect it's "punching above it's weight".  In my view, it's not a two-in-one" machine, but a three-in-one.

When my spotter finally goes to rest to that shag pile in the sky, I'll probably replace it with a Mighty One and sell my in-line booster.

All the reports I've read suggest that the maths (or is it the physics) for vacuum and CFM relationships is really complicated, but a few simple principles can be applied, for which I am not qualified to present.  See some other posts. 

I've often wondered if a simple and effective vacuum boost can be done using a good quality wet vac unit, plummed in parallel via a Y type hose or adapter,  at least one hose length closer to the wand ?

Many years ago, when I waseven more ignorant of these matters than I am now, I tried something similar to your suggestion. I had two identical machines and connected the hoses with a Y piece. I couldn't tell the difference maybe if I'd used 2" hose it would have been better?

As a rule of thumb, two machines running side by side in  parallell will be in balance.  Two dissimilar machines could be working against each other and give a performance inferior to the one on it's own.  You need to try it out and see if your own machines connected are beneficial.

An in line booster is the simple way to go.

Ken how far do you think the Mighty One should be from the porty i normally use 40ft of vac hose and leave the machine outside the house i was thinking 25ft of hose from machine to Mightey One and then 15ft of hose from the Mightey One to the wand.cheers Darren

Ive one and its ok.  For use as a booster you'll need 50ft+ of hose as it has to be 25ft from the main machine so its not something your going to use all the time as a booster.

As a spotter its a good spec compared to others but I still prefer to set the TM up if its handy.  Better flushing and vac.  However it is noisy which is a lack of design problem IMO.

I wouldnt use it for a carpet or suite unless there was no other option.  It dosent have the power for that.  Its only 100psi and one vac dont forget.

If it was to be used with a 3 vac Scorpion you would use it on the longer hose jobs ie 100' plus.

If you have a 2 vac machine will be giving you a boost even on the shorter jobs.

Make a good spotting machine but it is not designed to be used as a main machine for larger areas. It is fairly compact for the power it delivers.

As Mark said. Typically 25ft minimum from machine to Booster then the hose to wand is the final length of 25ft or, in your case, 15ft to wand would be fine

I regularly use my scorpian with over a 100 foot of vac/solution hose assemblies and haven't experienced any drop off in power none that i have noticed anyway ! I do have a hybrid mytee spotter/booster and have only used it once as a booster, that was when we were cleaning a very large house and useing nearly 200 ft of hose, but i mainly use it as a spotting machine as it was much more powerfull than my old prochem spotter

Darren, the steamvac booster can only be connected to the machiene if it has an exhaust prot,  yes alot of people get confused with cfm and vacuum there is a difference,dont be fooled just because it says 100cfm of waterlift as it is different to 100cfm of airflow.

I have used this spotter/booster.  It is a ok piece of kit,  the thing i didnt like about it was that the water pump pulses water out rather than a constant spray.  As a booster it is very handy.  Ive used as a booster on a Scorpion & a small TM.  I cant remember how it was connected on the porty but on the TM we had 50 feet of vac hose then the booster then another 100 feet of vac hose going to the TM.  It did make a needed difference.  I have never rated any spotting machines that i have used & to be honest i dont rate this 1 very highly but it is handy.
