I meant the auto ignite bit,i thought he couldn`t get it to light up.

The L5 auto ignites when it senses water flowing,.. but should the flame blow out, the "flameout" sensor stops the gas flowing in less than a second. Stop the flow and start it again ant it'll re-ignite.
