I am a painter and decorator who got into window cleaning . I started my business
with an old banger on the advice of a tax advisor at the Inland revenue, to keep all costs to a minimum because it was a new business.
I have worked very hard over the years, to build up a loyal customer base, and over these periods of years anyone with any business sense, will talk to as many as their customers to gather as much information which would benefit myself, without them realising.
So i am decorating someones house, and a window cleaner turns up to clean my clients windows with his fancy van (wfp) and he is there 10-15 minutes and charges them £25, and the customer isnt entirely happy with them, or their neighbours !
This gets me thinking about the amount of people that could be potential customers for me.
Believe me, i telephoned the majority of my decorating customers and found i can take the work with ease basically because they trust me and know who i am, and wouldn't be bothered if i turn up in a rusty old banger, because they know they would get value for money.
I have so far enough windows to cover two days per week, which i can dodge the weather if it is raining or icy, and swap them for decorating days.
I have not yet had to door knock or advertise, it is all word of mouth.
The majority of people are concerned with value for money than
imageps.....I have now a van
