Ebay buyers beware

Not really a window cleaning issue, but I post this here so that more of you can see it,
Mods please feel free to move it.

I have been sent fake emails twice in the last 6 weeks after winning an item on ebay.
This is one of the pitfalls when we display our email address. I received this e mail today, if you win an item on ebay, please done't be fooled by emails like this.

Hi daihutton,

Thank you ,your winning price for my item:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Item number : 190276718626
Item title : NOKIA N95 8GB AS NEW
31-Dec-08 18:50:49 GMT
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please reply this email as soon as possible for new payment instructions(don't pay until you contact me). We can't use paypal right now, because we change the bank account number & my paypal account will be active in 10 days .If you have already sent the money, please cancel your order,in any case contact me for new payment instructions . We will make the transaction through eBay system.

--------------------

Best Regards,

If I was daft enough to fall for this no doubt I would be asked to send payment by moneygramme or western union.
The seller had already contacted me saying that the item would be posted first thing tomorrow.
Be carefull guys, theres some real scum out there.

I informed Pay Pal who confirmed it as a spoof. The mistake I made was choosing daihutton as my ebay name, the spoofers just send emails out to daihutton@ every email provider, one of them has to be the right one.
Make sure your ebay user name is different to your email name.
