Will have a look tomorrow.  I presume you just unscrew bottom and its immediately obivous?

have a fiddle, i'm sure they come apart easy enough, it might just be a load of hairs where the belt drives the brush, making it slip.

Before you dismantle anything,pull out the wand and stick your finger down the hole and you will feel a microswitch,this is very prone to sticking and flicking it a few times usually cures it.
On the other hand it may well be a broken belt and will need a bit of surgery.-John
