« on: November 24, 2008, 05:29:09 pm »
Dilema , my biggest contract [ who has just suspended my services due to credit crunch but will review in Jan] has sent me a letter saying that from now on they will only use contractors who are registered with Safe Contractor [ it's £200 ]
a] If i dont join i wont be able to work for my main contract again , although ther's no guarantee they will start my contract again
B] Will joining get me any more work.
Any advice chaps
dont look who's to blame, look how to fix it. anon

i think you have answered a question for yourself, they only want safecontractors doing work for them.

I want the accreditation for the qudos and to say im a safe contractor - not bothered if it gets me anywork or not. Same as doing cscs card for building sites etc.

So ive joined and going thru all my H&S sheets etc that they have requested..

However it will be good to get some others views on the subject..

You only need 1 good job from it to get your money back
