This morning went to price up a job at dentists, the practice manager walked me through the building and gave me the guided tour. She said "can you clean all the internal windows on a bi-monthly basis?” I thought yeah sure!

I was asked if I could do the flat above the surgery, I said "yes no problem" she took me upstairs to the flat and as I was walking round the flat the temperature in the flat was freezing cold, nothing unusual there I thought, but all the hairs on the back of my neck started to stick up and I started to feel ill.

 Soon as I got out of the flat, I felt normal again!!! Now at this stage I turned round to the practice manager and told her how I felt up in the flat, and she turned round to me and said without a blink of the eye "oooh that will be the ghost, we have!! Most of the staff has seen it and heard footsteps up their"
I thought she was winding me up at first, but she wasn't the type of person who made those sorts of comments! She also told me that they have had 3 window cleaners throughout 2008 and they have all stopped coming, now it can't be because of the money its nearly £70 for an hour's work!

But it's making me think twice about doing the job?? They want me there early in the morning before they patients start to arrive. Which should be fun, in the dark!!

What do you guys think? Have you had anything strange like this happened??

It did freak me out a bit, I'm not ashamed to admit it!!

Wear an empty backpack the first time you clean the insides...... That way you will look like the Ghostbusters and scare anything in there away..........

When your on your own especially early morning then your mind may wonder when it hears a creak or some other noise but its only the house expanding and contracting due to changes in temperature. The upstairs flat probably hasn't got sufficient insulation and the heating hadn't been on for months with no-one living there (dead or alive) then places get a stale feeling to them......

Its your own mind that will make it seem "haunted"

Might sound stupid, but talk to it if you feel its presence - if anything it might help you feel a little bit easier.

Include it in you Risk Assesment and put in place 'adequate controls' for ghosts

i been to clean a house where there was a presence and it is not a comfortable experience. if it is a spirit; they wont hurt you. it may be that you are more attuned to them; (a medium). you will be ok and if you still feel 'funny' suspend your disbelief and go to a spiritualist church, someone there will be able to explain things more.

Dont get me wrong, I'm cool to get on with the work, it just freaked me out a bit at the time. Plus they have got through 3 window cleaners this year alone by all accounts due to the supposed ghost! One refused to work up in the flat alone and the other 2 refused to come back at all!! Now to me for 70 pounds, I will put up with it!!

Seriously..

I have had the same "presence" type feelings loads of times throughout my life...

the last one around six months ago, in a friends new cottage, i went to the loo, was thinking, whilst weeing... how old the place is, and wondered to myself how many people have lived in this house, etc etc...

when suddenly, there was a cold rush of air from the , hit me smack on, in the face... i stepped backwards towards the door,... in fact i was walking backwards all the way out....the breeze changed direction and blew from behind me...

and the room turned really cold.... i legged it.

  I believe our house is haunted, the wife has also said the same, had several differrent friends over to stay and all of them have said they won't stay again.

 It's a long story about how we came to believe that the house is haunted, but I used to work with a woman who was friends with the previous owners (they emigrated), she confirmed that they had said the house is haunted, and that the previous owners had inherited the house when his parents were killed in a car crash.

 It isn't haunted by his dead parents though - his mother was a practicing white witch - and I tell you there are some spooky goings on at times!!
