How else are you gonna know they are clean, or in fact needing clearing, unless you use a ladder like me :P

You won't get away with a small generator - think 5kva - about eighty kilos, you won't be tossing that in the back of the van. You could make a camera system yourself for about £150 or less just for inspecting.

It is but if you are slightly handy at diy you can mount a camera to any pole or even your lance if it's long enough. You can also buy the complete kit ready made if you've loads of dosh. Just bear in mind that a generator from them will cost you £670+vat where the same generator can be bought elsewhere for around £370 with vat + £12 delivery. You pays your money and the choice is yours.
If your only doing houses then you won't need an £800+ camera system. If your going for big commercial jobs then you might be happy to shell out in one big lump and have the lot.

Just get a cctv camera from Maplins with a monitor. You can get the wireless ones to work from recharchable batteries but if you search hard enough you'll find one that runs off rechargables ready made.

guys i have been on the omni vac website and there is one guy with the vacuum and another guy with the cam pole, cant you attach the cam to the vacuum pole and somehow suck the gutter while watching thre digital camera screen to see the blockages?   im only a one man band so cant be having 2 people just cleaning gutters?

We use gutter vac and have petrol pressure washer. Are you saying that you are going to flush the gutters through once vacced? Personally i don't, your extandable lance is fine for cleaning the ext. of gutters etc, although the power pole has the right connection for the gutter spike, i found this out once the spike was delivered to me..
On the camera front, you don't need one for houses, you can feel if there is any debris in the gutters, i would only invest in that set up if you were doing bigger contracts.
The same with the generator, for what they cost, i would hold fire until you need one, and make sure its going to pay for itself, we recently did 10 office blocks with gutter vac, and just used the mains electric. We were considering a generator, but need to make sure its worth while. The majority of householders will be able to supply electric, and i haven't had a grumble once from the tight ones yet about using their supply!
I must say it's sooo nice not getting plastered from jetting the gutters out like we used to!(and the time saved cleaning up is a god send)  :)

No you won't need two people on houses. I just use the camera for inspecting after i've cleaned and showing the customer if they are interested. You can feel and hear when it's clean to a large extent.

newpy that is great advice mate, i cant afford all the set up so i was only looking at the wet n dry vaccuuum and the suction pole,  will the gutter spike you can buy from them fit onto my yellow extendable pressure lance end?   do you just use the vacuum and nothing else apart from the spike to break up the compacted dirt?

i was going to buy a numatic wet and dry vacuum for pressure washing so i can suck up all the sludge from block paving.# can i not use this and make my own kit up?  i could buy the suction pole from omni vac but use the numatic wet n dry?  only need the extra long suction hose then  or wont it match the vacuum?

Omnivac has triple 1200W motors and a fairly large capacity for wet debris.

You absolutely do not need a camera. Have a look at this:

Regular two storey house is no problem at all. Yes, you can see perfectly clearly.

The mirror I used at first was a bicycle mirror. It was too small. The one I use now is a motorcycle mirror - about 4 inches diameter. It's a bit heavier, but well worth the extra weight.

The bigger one is the same as the omnivac - more power than the Numatic by about a third.

i dont think omni pole sell the suction tube alone, otherwise people would be buying it and just making their own systems up?  is this true?  can you get the tube anywhere else? ???
