Get an emergency call out today.

Water cascading down side of building and through the walls into the ground floor ceilings - right mess.  The have a down pipe on the outside that they presume is blocked as water is gushing out of the hopper. They tell me I must use a cherry picker - no ladders (they are Architects) I explain about Omnivac but they say no - must be a cherry picker.

I asked them to send me some pics and I would quote over the phone to save time.  The pics arrive and I can't believe its only about 24 feet to the hopper. But they are the client so I quote them for a cherry picker / emergency call out / gutter / hopper / drain clearing. They agree and up I go.

Because I am using a cherry picker we need two men - So Kim and I head up, pick up a cherry picker and then off to the job. The drain is blocked so I unblock it, the down pipe then free flows - job done!!!!  We use the cherry picker for to check the hopper / roof gulley and down pipe. I pick up a few leaves a couple of stones from inside the hopper and then its home time.

We return the cherry picker then I drop kim off - total time 2 hours.  I won't tell you how much an hour it cost them including the cherry picker but personally I made a days wages in 2 hours.

Some people still insist that ladders must not be used - I say bring it on
