Envirodri
« on: October 28, 2008, 03:59:24 pm »
Hi All

Just wanted to share my experience with an Envirodri machine.

Ordered a brand new one after some good reviews on this site. A bit expensive i know but after using it today for the first time i can say it's worth every penny.
I used to use a Sebo Duo for agitating which is thought did a good job but the envirodri knocks spots off it. It's fantastic at agitating pre sprays and the carpet looked fantastically clean before i rinsed off and the pile was rejuvinated and looked brand new.

Anyone thinking of getting one i would say go for it - i'm glad i did.

Worth getting Gold brushes for less harsh attack on rugs  ;D

Chris,

I ordered some gold and white ones with the machine and have been using those - did a couple of wool carpets today and they came up lovely.  Is it worth investing in the gold brushes as well?

must admit, cleaning the machine with ease is a deffo selling point for me, your not earning money when your cleaning your own equip so its got to be easy and straightforward.

Clean my Envirodri after every job. Knock out the pins, pull out the brushes, marigolds on to pull fluff out and wipe over with a cloth. Never timed myself, but probably takes less than a minute.

Safe and happy cleaning :)

knocking out the pins sounds good, this duo has 4 screws which are annoying.

Yea, the duo is a real pain in the ars* to clean - the bits kept getting stuck in the brushes and took ages to clean out. I've only had the envirodri one day but it was so easy to clean out. Like the others have said just removed the pins and take the brushes out. Really simple to clean and fantastic results. I was looking at the prochem one as well but plumped for the envirodri as it had such good reviews. I might buy some sponges next just to see what its like at cleaning and not just agitating.

Only fault with the envirodri is the handles need 2" of each side so you can get wright up to the skirtings easy enough to do then they are perfect beats me why they make them wider than the machine to start with e30 that is. 8)

There are different brushes you can get for the machine - there is one set that are hard and i would imagine would be excellent on low profile carpet tiles. I'm no expert on this machine though and i'm sure there'll be others on here who have used it for that purpose.

One end looks like it needs a allen key Colin. But unless yours is a old one - they just knock out. Stick a screwdriver on the end and bang with your hand. Should just puch through.

Apart from daily cleaning, what other "servicing" can be carried out on an envirodri?

From my experiences daveboy, no servicing needed. Just clean after everyjob.

Sent my Gen2 E40 off for some repairs earlier this year, cost me less than £100. Can't be bad over 5 years.

The handle is probably the same on the E30 and the E40. It's not too wide on the E40.

Safe and happy cleaning :)

So was mine the only e30 that needed some of the handle to be able to run wright upto the skirtings without the handle catching ?????????? or had no one thought of cutting them down?
