I never advertised upholstery.

Still get loads of calls for cotton mingers ::)

I just keep putting the price up on these then not fussed either way.

Love to do more leather though.

Not keen on doing upholstery to be honest.
Find it boring, repetitive and to be honest sometimes they don't look much better although they smell better.
Usually the older ones that are a waste of time.
Used to get a few leather suites but haven't had one now for 5 months, think people do they're own now.

I enjoy cleaning upholstery and its a big add on to the carpet cleaning, 30% of all work we do is suites, alot of the suites we clean we clean the lounge carpet at the same time, so if we didnt clean upholstery then someone else would get the job.
I always get good results on suites and they look  different when cleaned especially when dry, i always give the customer a courtesy call the day after the clean and never had any complaints.

If you just want to clean carpets, that's what to do, but, if I recollect, you come from a tiling background and you could add tile / grout cleaning and other stonework, rather than upholstery.
This is an area which I reckon has great opportunities for anyone adventurous enogh to try it. Courses are available and the products have been around for years.

I wouldnt take 4 on in a day mate, it takes me between 2 1/2 hours to 3 hours to clean 1 so 4 would be 12 hours ish + travelling time. Money would be nice though. :)

takes me around 1-1.5hrs using a hydra master quick dry tool, and prespray method, get around £100-£120 per 3 piece suite, so definately worth doing, leather is even easier and can charge more, i earn around twice the money as i would cleaning carpets in the same time span!

With the quick dry tool do you just pre-spray, agitate and run the tool over the pre-spray or does it inject cleaning solution into the fabric as normal.
Can they be used with other machines.

I vacuum, pre-spray, agitate with microfibre cloth then use the quick dry tool to rinse (with rinse agent) then wipe with white towel to remove excess moisture, normally dry in an hour depending on material
