hi all thinking of starting up but just need a little help thinking of doing prochem 2 day course in surrey to get things started.Have a local cleaning supplies shop which sell machines and guys there said little training is needed and they would show me how to use machine and advice on cleaning,is the prochem course thorough enough or would more training be needed have plenty to ask and lots to learn any advice to a newie very wellcome

              NCCA ive been told is bout the best for non-bias info training etc.

              Prochem is good but they will show only how to use there products , Rightly !!


              There is a bit more than just buying and starting up my Friend , one CC on here spent 1 year
              training and researching  b4 he started .
 
              Ive spent time with some with 30 years exp and trained for bout 16 months b4 i went alone
              and I know a lil but enough to do a good job,


             Take time to learn cause there are many pit falls , Good luck

thanks for advice not thinking of jumping straight in to cc at momment looking for advice ,help and training been looking at cc for sometime now but need to get started somewhere would the ncca be the right place to start to get things moving would like to learn of experinced cc if possable perhaps free labour for advice do people do this as i saw a post to someone suggesting this i took the commets from the lads at my local supply shop about not needing much training with a pinch of salt i want to learn as much as poss don,t want to be a cowboy as when i do start i would like to think i know exatly what i am doing thanks again any more advice please pass on.

hi gary.
i'm new to cc so maybe i'm not the best person to give advice, but heres my 2 cents worth.
training training and then more training. not just so you not what you are doing, but also it gives you the confidence to sell yourself and your business.
imagine walking into a house and saying, "yeah love, do that for £50 quid"  or walking into that house, checking the fibres so you know what your dealig with, looking at the backing for potential danger sign, (shrinkage over wetting, jute bleed etc...) then a dye bleed test, quick measure up and a point out of potential stains that may not come out, and then deliver the price, "yeah love £50 no problem all though i'll have to keep te water down a touch etc...etc.."
who would you choose to clean that carpet.
like i said, training training training.
theres a few cc's on here that will take you out but possibly not in your imediate area, just ask.

thanks but where is the best place to start training is it with another cc or one of the many courses as i said i want to learn but complete novice and if there is anyone in the southwest who would be willing to take me out would be gratfull ta.

i did the NCCA 2 day, the prochem 2 day and the cleansmart 1 day upholstery, also did the IICRC leather cleaning with LTT plus i'm doing the NCCA spot and stain removal course at the beginning of november, i'm also going to do another upholstery course to pick up on the things that didn't sink in the first time, (theres a lot to remember).
i'd do the courses first then go along with a few cc's, that way you won't be flapping around not knowing anything.
theres alot more to do aswell,
checking out equipment.
checking out competition, answering questions like, "why would someone choose me over my opposition"?
do some market research in your area and find out what peoples opinions are of cc's in your area, how they search stuff like that.
