did you order a ro system , or just trolley? , you are not to far from me, my tds is over 300 so yours will be similar, di only will cost you a fortune, if pressure is low fit a pump to ro, i am lucky my tap pressure is 60 psi.

you should ask your supplier which one you need for it.
I got mine at www.ro-man.com

thats 300 L in 24 hours, give it a try and see how much water you use

what are you filling ? ? ?  ? rain water butt's, because you can start the week with 2 or 3 X 210 L rainwater butt's full and your 25 L barrels full, it will give you a headstart on production over the weekend and you will then have enough with the output you have

i use a 100 GPD RO and start the week with a fair whack of water

no need for a booster pump if thats the case

Just a thought, if you've got the flush valve turned to 'flush', it'll produce pure water slowly and give you a massive amount of waste water.

Have you checked it's in the correct position?  It's in the correct position when the pure water is comming out quickest; though you will need to flush your RO at least once-per-week, for ten-to-fifteen minutes (though doing it longer wont hurt; I've left mine flushing all day by accident).

Do you understand what I mean?

And also what is the pressure reading on your RO?

PS.  Your tap water TDS is really high, I think we're around the 180 mark in South East Wales.

Ive got 80 ish TDS.

BTW, spotting is generally down to your technique rather than the water or residue if your water is below 7tds it should be spot free. You will get better at it thou.  ;)

the flush is in right position its just that the water pressure from tap is low
how do you take the preasure reading from ro?

Sorry Stig,

What I meant to ask was, have you got one of those pressure gauges on your RO system?  It's like a round-clock-looking think that goes from zero to about 140 and measures the PSI of your water?

I thought i had my ro in the right position for production for 5 months and it produced 80 litres during the night. I had it on flush and now it is on production i can get 150. The tap is not very clear i dont think. Production = low waste, Flush = loads a waste

no its not got a clock on....ive flushed it out . its still just trickling through- more waste than pure

Stig,

Can you adjust the 'flush-valve-thingy' so that you lower the waste water ratio to pure water being made?

If not, and if it still doesn't make enough pure water for you to work effectively; you'll need a booster pump.

No, I think that's wrong.  If you're making enough water, your filters will be fine.

I haven't heard of that before.
