Joe123,

Getting away from the bitching and back to the original question.

I'd firstly question why you want two if you haven't even got one yet?

As for the best portable machine, there's no right answer, the best thing you can do is get information from all the main manufacturers and compare them, decide what your budget is then go to the manufacturers and have a look at all the machines, try them out because what might look best on paper may not be suitable for your needs.

Things you need to ask yourself

Are you transporting it in a van or a car.
What's your budget
What sort of work are you wanting to do
Are you intending to do upholstery as well
Where are you located and where are the manufacturers/sevice centres.

When I first started I travelled the country looking at different machines, in the end I bought an Extracta Exel, it wasn't the best machine on the market, pressure is only 100psi, but it had a good vacuum with 2 three stage Super vacs, was a reasonable size and soundly built and looked professional.

However the main reason I bought it was because of where they were manufactured, only about 30 miles from me in Newcastle.  You will undoubtably have problems with your machine and getting it repaired and back into action quickly is paramount.

The machine is still an excellent piece of kit and we have never had anyone complaints from the results.

I now have a Prowler, bought from John at Restormate last year, another excellent piece of kit and exceptional value for money, a TM for not much more than the price of a good porty.

Again I looked at other truckmounts from other manufacturers, but the decision to buy a Prowler was not made on which is the best machine, it was made on budget, service centre location, this time only 20 miles from me and also on the fact that it can be removed from the vehicle in a couple of minutes allowing the vehicle to be used for other things if necessary.

Take a few days out and travel around the different manufacturers and make your own decision as to which is the best machine FOR YOU!
