LWC when you say you pick up work every day , is it because people see you about, advertising or a bit of both?

Dave

well in the old van people always used to come over and ask id of said at least 1 -2 a day, and i reguraly get phone calls and few enquires off my website

been using this van for about a month and it has been quieter alot quieter actually, and i seriously think its because my van wasnt sign written, there was a post the other day about is it really worth being sign written, and i can say hand on heart from my experience... yes it is

Thanks mate ;D

More like 400-450,you must have a different engine to thousands of others.
I was going to say that.

I find it's just under half the figure I put in(x10), if you know what I mean.
That's how I work it out.

eg:  £10 just under 50 miles.
       £20 just under 100 miles.
       £50 just under 250 miles.

So for £100 I'd expect just under 500 miles, probably 430ish.

I reckon if you were mainly motorway at 70mph in 6th  you'd get miles more though.

Mine's the  2.0, 115bhp model by the way.

is that seriously all you get? i can honestly get at least 600 miles easily outta £100. and i dont exaclty drive it slow.

even my mate said he gets 600-700 miles out of his vivaro bt van

you lot must have seriously heavy right feet lol

I do set the trip meter in mine when I fill up.  I could probably get to 500 miles on each tankful with a tiny bit to spare but normally I will top up before 450.  At £1.25 a litre (for instance), 90 litres would cost £112.50.  500 miles is the absolute top I've risked from a tankful and then on a longer run when I've been away up north and the water tank has been empty.  Normally, like most W/Cs, I do shorter hops with a fair bit of stop/start and with a fair load on.  My fuel usage is probably increased by having a ladder and roof bars on top though.  I've seen estimates that this can impact by as much as 20%.
So if I was doing longer runs, if I carried as little water as I could get away with, and if I carried no ladders or roof bars, it's just possible that I might get 600 miles from a tankful (at £112.50).  I do not drive hard either.  My Trafic is the 1.9tdi with 110dci.  600 miles per £100 does seem to be pushing it to me.  Maybe this was calculated before fuel prices started escalating?

Just to add that, apart from when I'm building up for a gear change, I try to keep the revs at 2000 or slightly above (a little more when loaded).
