Sisal & shrinkage ?
« on: February 17, 2005, 10:09:19 pm »
Hi '
The other day I was called out to customers house. They had just got in from work to find a radiator on the 2nd floor had burst result in water running through ceilings etc down to ground floor. The dining room (as all the ground floor )had recently been fitted with sisal after the last flood was soaking.Thats going to shrink off the wall I,m afraid but I,ll put a blower on it to try &save it.Two days later & it hasnt budged !! Unbelievable!!!This stuff usually shrinks if you show it a glass of water.

When you get the chanch have a look underneath to see if it has been  stuck to a rubber underlay which itself has been stuck to the floor with a tacifier adhesive. This twinstick meathod reduces the risk of shrinking a lot compared to stretch in. Would be interested to know.
