What does the calendar do?
I have put all my data in and the calendar looks like this.
Is this right?

It looks as though you have all your work in one round (main round). While this is acceptable WCP is designed to help you structure and organise you work more efficiently. Instead of having one round with 100 jobs it is better to split these up into logical units of work.

For example you could use the street name or area name like:

Cromer Way
  2 Cromer Way
  4 Cromer Way
  ...
Soleway
  6 Soleway
  22 Soleway
  ...
Medway
  5 Medway
  ...

So you would create three rounds called Cromer Way, Soleway and Medway and put each job into the respective rounds. If all these were in say an area called The Meads and you could do them all in a day, you could just have a round called The Meads and put all the jobs into 1 round.

The calendar shows all your rounds and when they are due. If you are not organising your work into logical rounds then you wont be able to use the schedule screen to its full capacity.

If people still require one large round, then I may add the option to view jobs on the calendar, but this gets very crowded and would require some interface changes!

Thanks

Ian

oh i see.
I work mostly in the countryside and very few of my jobs have anything address wise in common, except for the village name.
I can see an advantage if i had rows of streets in town but my average day would consist of 4 or 5 different villages.
If i wanted to keep my round as 1, is the calendar redundant for me then?
As i was expecting to see something in there. For example amount of jobs and value of the days scheduled work.

If you splits ur days work into different rounds Mark then ur calender will work mate. It's cause u have them as all 1 round.

Having it split will make it easy to print off work or send work to PDA.

I've got 14 jobs due on monday. When i run the mouse over it says jobs:0.
In the schedule it give me what info is there and the options to send to pda or to print etc.

Am i better off splitting my round into days, weeks or areas then?
My average work day is split between around 5 different areas.

I've only ever used microsoft calendar to schedule my work and that just gives me a daily list. Maybe that is clouding my thoughts on getting the best out of this software.

Mark,

You would probably be best splitting your work into days/weeks (i.e. logical blocks of work) that way you will have X number rounds and on your calendar it will show you all the rounds and their respective due dates. In your case you would have:

Week 1, Day 1
Week 1, Day 2
Week 1, Day 3
Week 1, Day 4
Week 1, Day 5
Week 2 Day 1
Week 2 Day 2
and so on...

I can possible add the option to view jobs instead of rounds on the calendar but its not a simple task.

The schedule screen is more important and efficient when scheduling your work.  Once you have split your work you will see how simply the schedule screen is!

Hi Ronnie,

This is due to your firewall not allowing access to the updater tool. You need to make sure that the program C:\Window Cleaner Pro\.install4j\updater.exe is allowed access to the internet through your firewall.

If you need any help, the let me know what firewall you are using and Ill see if I can post details on how to do this

Thanks

Ian

thanks i now see but how do i input the job to do 3 times a week such as monday wed fri or do i have to input the job seperate for these days

I have now added the days of the week functionality. This means you can schedule a job with a 2 day cycle to only perform on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, once you do the job on Friday it will reschedule for the following Monday...

Let me know if its what you were looking for?

Andrew,

You have two options, either print your own headed paper and then print the invoice on that or you can upload your logo under Tools->Document Settings ->Images which will print it on the invoices.

If you need a hand let me know
