To me the graph looks right. The figures from the highest earners mainly throw the median out, the mean remains in perspective moreso. £463 is about right when considering average jobs such as teachers, nurses, tradesmen, certain salesmen etc.

To be a little more accurate in terms of the 'general public' we could just look at the average wage for 95% of the public and leaving the top few out of it.
