Do you guys clean the window sills when you are cleaning windows, the reason i ask this is when my window cleaner has finished my windows the sills are always filthy?

No i not a window cleaner, im into floor cleaning, just the guy who does my windows seems to be a bit slap dash and just wondering if you guys clean the sills. I havent spoken to him yet.

I use a pole and wipe the cills. But you can't see the upper floors so are working blind.

Sills every time. Cannot believe anyone would not wipe them down, it only takes a couple of seconds and makes the job look so much better.

all windows cleaned proper and a resonable rate not rip off prices quated on here ,frames and sills if customer asks and pays

working class areas customers on minium wages,they wont pay fancy prices at £3 to £5 a house doesnt pay to clean frames for nothing smart arse

I was only joking!!! But if the area is that deprived then why don't you move? I wouldn't even get out the van for £3 let alone clean their windows! Being serious though, If your stuck with the work then want you are saying is fair enough. I wouldn't do the frames etc.

When trad I always wiped the sills of the water I put on them, frames cost extra, now wfp everything gets done  

It really depends on what you are paying, if your paying a very low amount and the guy is trad, then you are getting what you pay for, if the guy is wfp and you are paying low price then the same applies. If you are paying a good price this should be done as standard.

I agree. I clean the gutters round cons etc- but one chap whose property with cons(£12) i keep pristine said- i'm going every other month because they don't get dirty. In future I shall just do the glass.

I have a three bed house, no conservatory, nice big windows and the guy use wfp and he charges me £20 and he is here for 15 minutes doing them.

No not complaining, in my line of buisness which is tiling and stone floor cleaning, I'm a perfectionist, if i ask somebody to clean my windows and he quotes me £20 i want my windows cleaned.

I can see why sills arent clean if hes wfp, that does seem a bit steep, just ask him, he probably is getting away with it because he can, no one has said anything

sherco. simple. the bloke is ripping you off. for that money all cills should be done. a proper window cleaner cleans all cills all windows and never skips. if its got to the point that you don't trust the guy on you home then replace him. there are plenty of w/c's who do a proper job. just to point out, i'm in same poor area as someone who doesn't wipe, i get paid similar prices but i always always always wipe cills i don't see the point in spending 10mins arguing over cills when i could do em all in that time and keep punters happy...jeez not wiping cills no wonder we have a poor image in punters eyes

I'm with Dave St Ives, I always try and clean the top cills, but never get up and check them, always do the bottom ones though.
I bet some  guys who think they do a perfect job would get a bit of a surprise if they actually went up to inspect their work.
