just had the loudest thunder iv ever heard over my house, thought next door house had exploded

I was ALMOST struck by lightening once, it was when i was using ladders.

It was a red hot day, the rain came down suddenly and it started with the thunder like right above my head.  I packed up my stuff and was putting it away while thinking "It isnt a good idea to be carrying these big metal conductors around really" (the ladders)

A few minutes later a church just yards away was struck, if I hadnt have been near it, maybe it would have been me.

not really had any other thunder apart from that one but rain is torrential now.....a big firm round the corner from me used to clean the trafford centre, they prob still do, a friend of mine used to abseil for them on it and on shopping centres in rochdale
