Do i ring or send letter
« on: August 11, 2008, 04:40:06 pm »
As some of you may no that ive just been to look at my 1st commercial property, It seems to me like they want someone that doesnt live in the town to do this place as they want to keep it confidential, I would need to give 48 hours notice that i will be doing it, and its on a 3 month basis, the current cleaners have said they wil only do it when in the area, and when they do turn up there only there 10 mins but at a guess it should take them no less then a hour, they do it the traditional way at the mo, its 4 storeys high but the back 3rd, 2nd and 1st floor can only be poled by standing on a flat roof, im going to do ground floor trad as its got a lot of decking which is in continuos use so dont want to cause a accident and want to state that this is for H&H. Do i contact them via the phone with my quote or email as they want a quote in quick so the job can be done soon if email has any one got any sort of letter i could copy and paste into a mail format.

If you phone them with a quote they will only ask for it in writing anyway and if the quote has to be in quick then email is the best way I use a PDF file (looks pro) www.cutepdf.com

email it and get them to reply accepting your quote and T&C.
that way there are no grey areas as to what you are supposed to be doing and you both have contact address in email address book.

I use PDFs to, its good because

A) does look a lot more slick than any other document
B) they cannot edit the document

that looks like a good little download Poleman  ;) i use the full version of acrobat but the other one is FREE. looking good ;)

Cheers for your offer NWH and thanks for the info over the phone it was really nice to talk to you, Its a four storey building but the ground floor is a extension with a 25 x 25 foot flat roof so i can pole the 3rd floor with my sl-x, hopefuly this could lead onto more in this area and as its local to you any 2 man jobs i may get youll be 1st on my list.
I think having a CRB has given me a good edge on this job.
