I spoke to sebo uk and they advised me togo for the sebo 36.Reasons being if your going to be carrying it around in your van with other equipment then the 36 is a bit more robust.

yes the sebo has twin motors and the head swivels too so great to use because you don't need to stand directly behind it! ain't tried the transit test yet though!

i use a rainbow vac this has the great selling point of the dirt being visible in the water. it has reasonable suction but a very good beater system. the accesories are also very well made, although the machine is a bit plasticky. the 1500 pound price tag puts people off

I use the sebo 36 and although it would appear to work as well as the dyson, when you attach the sebo's extension hose, there is a definite loss in suction.

When taking on a stair job where pets are involved, I generally risk the distainful glare and take the dyson in.

I spoke to Dyson about the possibility of them bring out a 'commercial' model that would be available direct as opposed to the highstreet.  Unfortunately their bean counters don't think its a viable move.  I have to be honest and say that had the choice been there and with knowledge of the sebo, I'd have gone for the Dyson.

re Dyson verse Sebo I think its each to their own.
Regarding pet hair i find it hard with any machine to fully get it all out.
I have found on stairs using the sebo with the henry brush attachment picks them up well ( the oblong strong brush one, you can get them on ebay quite cheap).
Regards the floor carpet I find sometimes I have to get on my hans and knees with the little turbo vac ( hunter also on ebay at £23) this ususll gets it up but can take an age.
