For guys in Scotland
« on: July 31, 2008, 10:25:14 pm »
Spoke to a mate of mine who works in Motherwell, a few guys have been knocking on all of the doors offering to do clean windows for £1.00 per house. i thought he was winding me up at first but apparently he is using dodgy guys working on the side paying them 50 p per house. He does his work fortnightly and has lost a lot of custom he says every day customers are phoning up to cancel because his minimum price is £5 so thats £4 per clean they are saving. he said he has also heard from a reliable source that they are working in other areas nearby apparently a guy in wishaw lost his whole run to him. My mate actually approached him to talk to him about but he did not get a nice response was basically told he will do what he wants he also said if my mate wanted to then give him his address if he is ever looking for staff he will contact him.  my mate did not give it and did not think he wanted if to employ him more likely to smash up his van. Just a warning for all you gys

No License springs to mind which makes him illegal? I'm sure Doug would like some more details.

There are 3 enforcement officers in North Lanark, all details provided to them they will take action. The guys will be stopped from working if reported.

If you want any more information contact us on the SLWCN site, someone else from your area has already done this.

My mate got his son to approach the guy today to ask him if he had any work for sale. He actually said yes but said all of the customers were paying a lot more and he wanted 4 times the monthly income. A complete scam if you ask me
