this is a question for all you bonnet type system users.
i'm looking into a texatherm system and have come up against the problem of laundering the pads. i'll be using around 200 a day with some jobs day after day.
can any body give me any clues with regards to getting pads washed. i don't fancy buying 10 washing machines or staying up all night washing these things . so does any body have a secret system or a commercial washing machine going cheap.
also how many pads do you wash at a time and what size washing machine do you use. 5kg 6kg 7.5kg??
how much do 20 used pads weigh??
your help would be great.

Get some super pads from Nick at Solution and forget about texatherm results are the same

And they only need laundering once in a blue moon, the soiling is rinsed out after each use, so no need 200

Just to put some balance into this debate, my mate offered me some charlie pads real cheap, he said they were rubbish and he was going back to using some 100% cotton pad we imported from the Argo Company in the states.

I agree, been using them since last November, only washed them twice.
Spoke to Nick yesterday about the this,  he recommends you use a stiff brush if the pad gets too full of carpet fluff. Great product tho.
Interesting hearing about his new solutions that are coming soon, should surprise a few people.

How many texatherm systems are you thinking of buying

I use dry fusion and have never used more than 30 pads in a day, and that was on a very bad commercial.

On average I will use 10 a day. 2 washes in a domestic machine.

I purchased a second hand washer for £50 and plumbed it in the garage.

i was told that each pad will do around 6 to 8 sq/meters and i can rinse them each once. also that i could do 1000sq/meters a day with one machine(all going well) i have lots of 2500ish sq meter jobs to get through so 7 into 2500 needs 350 ish half that with one rince 175 pads running 2 two machines for 10 hrs and one busted washine machine!! i'll never get them washed will I??!!

Have used Texatherm for 4-5 years now, always on commercial low profile. Regularly do 1000 - 1500 sy. yds of carpet in a day using two man team (No problem). One man thoroughly vacuuming, moving small items of furniture ONLY etc. Second man operating rotary / tex. system.
Generally, each pad will cover on average 15 sq. yds....cleaner, outer areas more yds.....dirtier, desk & vending  areas less yds, but on average we will cover about 15yds per pad.
We have never taken more than 60 pads on any job, regardless of size, always  re washing on-site (simply hand rinse through & reuse)  to complete job.

As regards to laundering after job, we just throw 10 pads a time into washing m/c & leave. Never any problem. These pads seem to last for ever and so are very cost effective.

Yeah, pads can be problematic, but all problems can be solved.

If you are cleaning the sort of area you mentioned, forget a domestic front loader. The minimum you require will be a top loading washing machine, or even better is a commercial washer, which should clean upto about 20 pads a time. There's no need to dry them if they are in use the folowing day or so, but I prefer to dry them if there's no work sheduled for the system.  Occasional tumble drying for 10 minutes will help to reduce the fluff build up.  I carry my pads (Dry Fusion) in a Contico Bag. I got mine from my local janitorial supplier, but they're available from Dry Fusion UK and I would presume from TCS too. They cost about £13 from memory and hold about 30 pads.

The nice salesman is a "real world"  ???user and was before selling the system. The recommended cleaning area per pad and the washing instructions are there for a reason.

To put into perspective,

currently 2500 set of Super Pads sold in Germany 800 sets sold in the UK most purchasers are 3 - 5th generation purchasers. If your colleague did not get the results he was looking for maybe he was not usig the Pads correctly.

1 set of Super pads will clean 10,000 sm normally we would expect them to be washed once per week, imersed in micro splitter the put the machine on rinse cycle only. No detergent required to clean.

Nick how long have you been selling them in  the UK? when you say 3-5th generation  buyers are you saying they came back 3-5 times to buy more charlie pads? why did they have to buy more, when you say they will clean 10,000m/2  after this are they worn out so you have buy some more?

how long have they been on sale in Germany.
