Gardiners Single Trim Brushes
« on: July 29, 2008, 07:22:55 pm »
Are on their website now - look rather good too.
So Alex, what's the difference in performance - when is it best to use the dual trim and when to use the single trim? Are the bristles the same stiffness etc?

Difference in performance:

The new single trim version is actually about 10g lighter so always a bonus.  Having used both of them now, whilst they are very similar in actual cleaning ability, they do perform quite differently on the end of the pole.  The dual trim does seem to splay slightly more easily and hence is better suited for high level work.  I was using it at 40-50ft yesterday on an initial plate glass clean and found that it scrubbed very well with very little effort on the pole.

The single trim version, in my initial impression, seems to be better suited for lower level work as it takes slightly more pressure for it to splay out.  The actual bristles are identical on both brushes, where the difference comes in is having the inner layer either shorter or the same length.

No, I hired an international model at an extortionate hourly rate - well worth it though.

Actually yes it is me, all the international models were unavailable so I had to do.

Same price as a dual trim brush :o

You're only getting single trim as opposed to a dual trim so surely it should be cheaper :P

You're actually getting more bristles, so it should be more expensive!

Yes, these fit straight onto the plastic angle adapter on the end of your X-Tel Hybrid.  They also fit our aluminium G-Fit gooseneck range.

Hi Alex
I used your new brush  for most of the day and it’s a great brush to work with, but as we have a hot water system, the clear pipe that you have supplied with it which connect to the brush is not a ideal pipe for hot water system, and kept popping out of the nosel, therefore I would suggest to use a more stronger pipe like the black ones which ionic use them for their poles.

Best regards

Bosh

We plan on having these as a standard stock item in plentiful supply.  Having said that, we have already sold out of the dual trim version.  We did only have 100 made as a trial run but we did expect the stock of the dual trim brushes to last longer than a week!  We do have a good amount of the single trim brushes in stock and the dual trims will be back in stock (much larger production run this time) in about 3-4 weeks.

With a new product it is quite difficult to judge exactly how much demand there will be and when to schedule the next production run, etc, but our aim is to have a large stock of both brushes all the time.
