never ever detailed from a pole. extremely rarely not from a pole, never had a complaint. Inside of houses are different, but only then when a run occurs. Not trying to be rude but can't see why everyone wants to detail. I did 9 or 10 years commercial trad never normally detailed, Obviously there are exceptional windows that need detailing, but extremely rare IMO.

so how do you manage to squeegee without leaving even a slim edge around the edge of the glass?

i've only ever used my trad pole as a last resort, and i just dont bother with the detailing because the pole is so unwieldy its almost impossible, but if i really wanted to do it i guess i'd do as paul griffin said, use my fixi clamp and a scrim

Fold your scrim up, stick it on the window were the frame is and push it around, using the frame as a guide, you'll soon get the hang of it.

stick microfibre cloth over squeegee and go left right as tops only need detailing to stop runs and get rid of the drag marks inherent with poling. if your really clever use a backflip and have another pole with a dry squeegee on and cloth draped over

scrim over the top of pole held in place with my daughters hair grip/elastic if i can be bothered. normally just wrap the scrim and hope it doesnt fall off and i only detail with the pole if i have touched the top of the frame by accident

i got a clamp from pulex and it's lethal. you would end up smashing windows if using this thing.
scrim on end of pole for me
