hot pure water
« on: June 06, 2008, 12:00:16 pm »
I have read a post on another forum about this , apparently it works better in summer. Is it possible to produce it by connecting to the hot tap , or does it have to be heated after filtration?
Cheers Rich

In a word no - Think back to when you were trad, If you put hot water in your bucket how long did it last? You need to heat it as you go along Nathanel Jones from the guild has written a book on diy hot systems and has posted on here about it. That would be the route to take.

If you are DI only you can fill up in the morning from the hot tap, and because the tank is so big it will stay warm most of the day, especially if you insulate the tank a bit.
The downside is that putting hot water through your pump will drastically reduce its lifespan (so I'm told anyway), so in the long term it could be costly.

If you just want to try it out and see the difference from using hot WFP, then filling from the hot tap just for a day or 2 shouldn't do any lasting damage once the water is under 60 deg Celsius (Check your pump, some are only rated to 40 deg).

If you like the results from that, then investigate the "on demand" heaters that are available!
