Hi All hope business is good,

I have a couple of questions I have a 400ltr flat bed tank in my van and do all my wfp work with an omnitrolly basically take trolly out the van and fill it up from the tank. Am i right in thinking that all i need to do to be able to work straight from the van is just get a pump and a battery and connect the pump to the tank and off i go. I was thinking of getting a 100 psi pump and connecting it to the tank and wire the pump up to the battery via a switch would this work easily enough or would there have to be other things i would need. I wouldn't be using it all the time want it more as an option with some of my bigger jobs.

why not just stick the suction pipe from the trolly into the 400ltr tank and then switch it back into the trolly when needed

I tried that before but it didn't work very well plus a while ago i snapped the bottom of the trolly were the hose is connected and i don't want to have to keep undoing it every time i want to work from the van.

just a suggestion our kid coz its what i do sometimes (from trailer not van)

battery connections (as said) pump (strainer for pump) hose a few connectors a hose reel with microbore. few wires fuses and fuse holders and jobs a good'en

you could also get a varistream  (flow controller).

Why do you use a trolley ? I found this a ball ache.

Pump and battery and you will be away.

Once you do that your trolley will virtually redundant.
I have an omnitrolly but never use it anymore but handy to keep as a backup

Ian, i've used a trolly ever since i made the change to wfp about 4 years ago and at the time only had the van i brought for traditional work so a van mount system for me in a combi i didn't really fancy it as i wouldn't have been able to put a 400ltr tank and all the r/o unit stuff aswell without it being overweight plus back then the equipment was a lot more expensive to just try it out. To be honest i think i made the right decission as for me personally having to drag meters of hose everwhere and putting signs out for tripping hazzards just for one house just doesn't seem worth it but having said that i have never tried working straight from the van so i cant say if its easier or not and now i have areas where this way could be better since i have built my round up alot since i first started out.

What pump would you all recommend and where is the best place to get one. And i was just going to use garden hose at the mo as i don't want to go spending to much money incase i don't like working that way, will garden hose be ok for a months trial.

 Paul i'm not sure i would go as far as that as i reckon i would still use it on alot of my houses although i do want to try working from the van just to see what the differences are as i think both have there plus sides although i might be eating my words next month

try alex G, purefreedom wintecs and wcw and compare the price get a 100psi pump, garden hose will be ok but I can see you changing it over to van mount alot more.
I have done both and my work demands a van mount only a handful need a trolley.

Ian, you mentioned a strainer for the pump what exactly is it? I take it it does what is say's but I've never seen one what does it look like.

I've just done that to my van.

I was using a Pure Freedom Trolley... but have plumbed in a 100psi pump, New Battery - and run it through 100 metres of 6mm microbore, with a control valve at the pole.

All worked great, except I was using a shed load more water than I was used to using, and no matter how much I ' tuned' the pump could not get it to flow with a low brush pressure, without the pump going in cycle mode.

So - I took the Varistream of the trolley and wire it in - Sorted! 

So much easier than the trolley, faster set up time, and no running out/ filling up barrels.

For me, I just need a larger van tank now. I'm using a 250litre tank, and carrying 4 loaded barrels.

I'm looking into getting a custom 400 litre tank made up.

I'll still have the trolly to earn lol. I hear what your saying tho  I want to see if it suits me before laying out extra money as i have an old battery i can use for now.
