Just out of interest who has there di vessal/s before the tank or who has theres after the tank ?

i use 2 di vessels to prolong the resin. and its less strain on the pump

I do the same aswell 2 vessals before, but have ro first as my ppm is over 470

Would there be any effect on production rate with the DI's after the RO?

And what exactly would be the difference in the two setups, any advantages?

  I use one di in front of tank (rainwater harvesting!) TDS 000

  I use one di after merlin/ro but before tank! TDS 000

Both of these systems are separate (ie rainwater one system)

Both are NOT van mounted!

Van system just consists of tank, mesh filter, shurflo pump, eco flow & pole!

From where I am sat the disadvantage to di after tank is if the tds goes up when out at work it could cause problems, before I know it is pure. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong but thats my thoughts on it.

Thanks Ian, but.....wouldn't it be a bigger problem if the whole tank would be filled with 001-0xx water? Because with DI before tank, the moment you would find out, then you have a whole tank of water, which you then have to purify a second time, but if you would have the DI after the tank, then it would be as quick as changing the resin.

I have D/I after tank as van mount, then d/i polishes just before cleaning.

If by some chance the tank got contaminated it still would be 0.0tds.

I do agree with you on that score, this is why I test water before and during fill.

Hopw many of you guys that use di after carry the spare resin with them?

Ideal,do you find any difference with the rainwater going thru`your DI
As opposed to your RO ? At present,I`m only `harvesting`and keeping
The rainwater I catch at 000ppm.However sometimes I`ll keep a few
Hundred liters at no more than 001ppm.No matter how good,or it seems
Anyway that my aqua filters are,`foreign bodies`most of which I guess
Has to be said will be living ogasms,will send the 000ppm rainwater up
To 001ppm after no more than a couple of days or so.I have my tank
Before DI,so also,just wonder if it will have any effect on the resin.
I`m keeping accurate records now and up to press my 10 inch cannister
Has produced 800 liters and still going strong with the rainwater knocked
Back down to 000ppm.Have you ever noticed,or has it ever `climbed`back
Up after DI ? I hav`nt myself as yet touch wood. Thanks for replies.

Twin DI's after tank

Advantages-

1. resin lasts longer with a lower flow rate passed through it.
2. fill tank from tap quicker.
3. fill tank while out working from custy's tap, or any tap (if soft water) so never run out.

You would never get caught out with a rising tds if you use dowex resin & have vessels on van. As with such a slow flow rate going through the vessels it would stay at 001 tds all week then just gently creep upwards giving plenty of time to rectify.

Completely different story with puroshlite resin though. Has to be Dowex or similar to achieve this.
