Dowex resin, cheap resin could be regenerated, which will last half as long or something like that, Virgin resin like Dowex apparently lasts a lot longer.

You need a tds meter.

You check the tds after the RO has been working (not flushing) for a few minutes.
That will let you know when RO filters or membranes need replacing.

Then you check the tds after the di vessel.
This will let you know when your resin is on its way out.

if you are getting 000 tds out after resin then it is working fine, when it starts to climb 001 002 change the resin.

do you have 2 di vessals or just one ?

We normally change the resin when it gets above 005.   Takes just a few seconds to check it every morning.  Can't remember what resin we use, buy it from Stream, think the last lot was about £68 +vat (free postage)

If you are running an RO then you also need to be changing your filters about every 6 months, our water from the RO into the tank is normally about 010, this is from a tap water reading of 260-270, that's going though a 40" RO and pre-filters

Depends on where the water flows through before it hits the basin, some go through layer after layer of mineral deposits.

I think it's something like that.

I always thought this was the standard way, through the RO into the tank then when you want to use it, through the pump and the DI for a final polish.

I think you can get some deterioration if it is left in the tank

I left water in tank for nearly a month and no change from 000 tds, have to say my system is not static though but have to 1000L ibc's full of pure also in lock-up.

I wonder how many people have it your way and mine I will do a poll on it.

Many thanks for the reply.
