when you use it as a clampless, How do you have your clamps?? Just loose any old how, just tight enough to hold the pole up? or is there anything else I should know about, I don't want to spend the rest of the week in hospital with a fractured skull  ;D ;D

I have the clamps loosened off as much as possible, I then thrust the pole upwards, you then have to trap the hose between your hand and the base of the pole, this is what holds the pole up, you simply release the hose when you want the pole to come down. It's a very quick method, particuarly when doing a lot of small - medium sized houses when you need to extend and retract the pole often. The only problem with this method is that the brush can easily swivel round, especially on awkward to reach windows.

Are using a no1 unger section in the top pole section

If so instead of using the spring clips to hold the pole sections surely the NO1 unger clamp would have been the right diameter to fix onto the top section of the harris pole for the unger NO1 to slide into.

Your wife obviously knows a bargain when she see's one Jeff!!
This thread must have helped to shift quite a few extra harris poles, I've got 3 myself now - my converted 22ft, the clampless speed pole, and a spare. But judging by how hardwearing they seem, I may not need that one for quite some time!!!  ;D

I have 2x5m and 1x3m now, Ok mine cost a little extra with the heat shrink on them but come the winter there not going to stick to my hands  ;D and at this price who can moan.

I would like to know when the first one of us Harris pole users breaks or has his pole wear out? if they last a few months, we can't moan unlike the expensive pole suppliers who  must have lost a few Bob by now.

Thats my next job jeff, I'm gonna order some heat shrink tomorrow!
I will let you know when mine wears out, I've been using mine for a few weeks now, so I reckon I've had my 15 quids worth!! But I'm expecting it to last many more months, even if the clamps wear out I can still use it clampless!!

It will just be interesting to find out if there durable as none of us know for sure yet, but like you said its paid for it self and many more, many times over,
lets see your pole when you wrap it, it really does make them look a little more pro, I never fancy a customer saying, ''I bought one of those harris poles'' at least with the heat shrink on it may confuse them a little  ;D ;D
